Unladylike

I don't think girls should ever chew gum in public. It just looks bad. And for some people, sounds bad too.

In class, the girl next to me was chewing gum. She went through 4 pieces, as in spitting a piece out and replacing it. Oh my lord. It drove me up the wall.

Mints are much more polite. They are discrete and can easily be tucked in your mouth. No one will even know that you're freshening your breath :) Plus, they are much, much, much quieter.

I am very picky about what mints I eat. There are two things that make me gag: sushi and strong peppermint flavors. Weird, I know. I'm obsessed with Starlight mints, Icebreakers, and the soft "baseball" mints.

Is anyone else bothered by gum chewing???

PS One of my friend's mothers related chewing gum loudly to a cow chewing cud. Haha.

College Costume Parties

Themed parties are really fun. That is, if everyone actually participates!

Little V and I decided to have a Rubik's Cube party for last night. The intention was to raise money for our friend's car because it broke under our care... And the car is very important for the program he runs.

[A Rubik's Cube party is where everyone wears an article of clothing of every color on the cube and then trade clothes with people until you're all in one color!]

Little V and I decided to run over to the Salvation Army and look for our costumes! It turns out that it was actually the SA headquarters and not a thrift store, so we ventured a little farther and had lots of success.

The party was fun, even though V and I were the only ones to dress up! Oh well... we raised some money for the car, so that was good.

Wearing costumes doesn't have to be trashy or expensive. I think those are common mistakes that students make. I didn't spend more than ten dollars on this costume and lots of times you can wear stuff you already have in your closet. Thrift stores are good for things you'll only be wearing once. It's also not a good idea to wear your best clothes. Jungle Juice does NOT come out easily... and it is bound to be spilt on you by sloppy boys (or girls). I think the "trashy" thing speaks for itself. Be cute, not trashy.

If I had 25k to spend, I would....

... have a hard time deciding what to buy!

I would love to buy this CUPCAKE CAR! It is included in Neiman Marcus' "The Christmas Book." Who wouldn't want to zip around in one of these cars??? I mean, they only go 7 miles an hour, but they're personally customized and just so stinking cute! Watch a video of the cars here.

Or... the Lilly Jeep! Equally as cute and definitely more efficient.

Here I am with a Lilly Jeep last spring. (Please forgive me for the outfit... It was freezing, and I was on my way down to the boathouse for practice. See my cox box bag, with a pink bow of course!)

Both are $25,000... So, I'm thinking that I should win the lottery and buy both! Woo!

PS I'm having the weekly sleepover with Little V tonight! We love having slumber parties :)

Vera Bradley Holiday

Vera Bradley Holiday!!!

So cute! I really like the ornaments. They would make a really great Secret Santa gifts... or for teachers... or neighbors... or yourself!

The stocking is a little much... but still fun, maybe for a children's room!

Stick It

I have SO many things to do over the next couple of weeks and I've been feeling extremely anxious about getting everything done. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I'm obsessed with making lists. I need to be able to see everything I need to get done and I just love to cross things off.

Today, I was writing multiple lists and reminders on Post-Its and I realized how much I could not live without them.

I have stacks of regular colored Post-Its, but I also have quite the collection of preppy ones as well.

The one on the bottom is a Vineyard Vines mousepad that's actually a stack of paper. It's great for jotting down quick notes and reminders while at the computer. Vera Bradley Post-it booklet is on the left, then my Lilly "Stuck On You" booklet, and on the right is my Vineyard Vine's polo Post-it stack.

The inside of the Lilly booklet. I love the different shapes... there's one for everything you need!

The long ones on the left are fabulous for lists. I love how they're lined. I use the hot pink ones on the bottom right for dividing things in notebooks and as bookmarks.

Two reminders that I left on the side of my desk hutch.

Another reminder (on boring, but pink, Post-It) on the corner of my desk.

My "To-Do" list for tonight on the front of my Kate Spade agenda.

Another "To-Do" list from a few weeks ago.

My schedule, in case I forget.

Every week, I make a list of all the homework I have due. I make it the Friday before so I can be efficient during the weekend. This one is from a couple of weeks ago.

I separate my economic lecture notes with the skinny Vera Bradley Post-its. It makes it easy to flip between the packets.

This isn't a Post-it, but I pin it to my bulletin board. I have to see everything written down!

Well, by writing this post, I can check one more thing off my list!
